God chose to love us. In fact, he decided the death and resurrection of Jesus was available to all his enemies. Each sin would make us his enemy. But Jesus was willing to die for our sins. If we begin a relationship with Jesus – seeing him as Lord and Savior – we can experience God’s love.
Sin had created a gap, a distance between us and God. Jesus essentially serves as a bridge between us and God. HIs sacrifice opened the way for God to restore our relationship with him.
It’s hard to believe, but here’s an undeniable truth. God can’t love us any more or any less. He loves us unconditionally. We’re adopted sons and daughters who are permanent members of his family.
Each new sin can’t separate us from God’s love; Jesus already took care of the punishment. He endured the punishment. And he’s the only one who could do that since he never sinned.
