Forgiveness and Reconciliation with God

God wants everyone to know that he wants to forgive all of our sins. He made a way through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus who took on God’s wrath and died in our place for our previous sins and the ones we have yet to commit.

What Jesus did is final – one death for all of mankind. But we don’t get to benefit from his extraordinary sacrifice without a sincere faith gesture. Being spared the penalty for our sins is a gift that we either accept or reject. We need to love Jesus for loving us, beginning a new relationship with him. As a result, we’re reconciled with God. He sees us through Jesus, not holding out sins against us.

Do we need to be perfect? Absolutely not. New and old Christians sin on a regular basis. But we must have a relationship with Jesus. Each sin affects our fellowship with God. Sins don’t sever the relationship.
